I just finished reading this well written article and have to say that it is an interesting study.
I happen to think this article was rather accurate, though I can't say that I fall into any category. Many girls are entirely toooo toooo tooo picky. My boyfriend would tell me horror stories about the superficial, shallow ditzes he met on the same website we met on.
Most girls had an income criteria, profession criteria, and education criteria all accompannied by their own selfish, unrealistic timelines, some including the date of their 50th wedding anniversary!
These people are over the top. I can understand having a goal, perhaps; but telling a guy you can't date him because he graduated from Community College and now makes $100K a year as a business owner of a bait shop, is a little insane! What ever happened to getting to know someone?
In a world where money, power, and fame dominate it is hard to shy away from the "things that count". The best thing is, who are the ladies that are asking for these men? Some are well-physiqued, platinum blond, tan, girls that are thriving off of Daddy's Relief Fund.
What happens when a guy places a similiar request? He is labeled a "douchebag" and a "jerk". Hmm. Sounds like a double standard to me!
I was never picky with who I dated. I felt that love can happen when you least expect it by the least expected person! All I know is that these ladies are letting life pass them by! I do owe them a thanks though. If they didn't reject my boyfriend, I wouldn't have ended up with him. He is amazing! So right now while they are checking off their lists, I am typing my blog and my beau is cooking eggs, bacon, and bagels! Then again, I am sure that these are the same girls that don't eat?!?!
Being a little leniant in your "criteria" or your "pickiness" will allow you to explore different cultures, events, personalities, and life events. You may realize you can have fun on a smaller budget.
Go with the guy whose a 4 instead of an 8, then get back to me!!
